Acai berry is a small purple fruit native to the Amazon rainforest. Our acai is typically wild-harvested by cooperatives in South America and we have chosen the Euterpe Precatoria variety due to its higher antioxidant count and lower fat level than standard acai (Euterpe Oleracea). In fact, this type of acai berry has one of the highest ORAC values (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity) of any food.
